Updates and Taxonomic Revisions
During the time of writing and publishing this field guide, we strove to ensure that as much of our content was up to date with the latest scientific research as possible. The text additionally went through a rigorous peer review process.
However, errors will always make their way into a text, and new scientific research can disprove former studies and results. Provided on this page are updates to our text that will ultimately be incorporated into a revised edition.
Page 046 - Carcharias cuspidatus has been reassigned to Araloselachus
Page 115 - the fish x-ray image is of a triggerfish, not a sheepshead
Page 411 - the dorsal and ventral views are reversed
Page 443 - the "hinge" is a lateral plate from a large barnacle (Balanus sp.)
